Season 10 Poster

We know little about the 10th, and rumoured to be final, series of Alan the Alien’s Log, the poster for which has just been released, designed apparently by the shadowy Deergate Lodge, perhaps an earthly franchise of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks’ unearthly Black Lodge. For the first time, the season has its own title which clearly references:

Methought I heard a voice cry, “Sleep no more!

Macbeth does murder sleep”—the innocent sleep,

Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care,

The death of each day’s life, sore labour’s bath,

Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,

Chief nourisher in life’s feast. 

Might this series, therefore, come to be undermined by the atmosphere of the uncanny that was clearly developing with cast, crew and scriptwriters towards the end of Season 9? Might Alan pass beyond the red curtains into a waiting room of backwards speech and madness? We can only hope a happier fate awaits our good-natured, tubby hero.
