Prequel Poster

In what must have been an unusually well kept secret, it seems that Alan’s series will soon be back in the now-fashionable form of a prequel. Such a pity that the significance of the season title - ‘To go with bold entreaty’ - is simply impossible to decode. Will it learn from a well reviewed rival prequel and give up on all season-long thematic unity in favour of rip-roaring (and cheaper) episodic stories? Will the captain here too have premonitions of his unfortunate future fate? 

The poster - supposedly, but almost certainly not, designed by ‘Pym's Publicity Ltd’ - suggests the latter with its hint of tentacles from the reviewer-alienating climactic final episode of Alan’s season 10 which, like a clock striking 13, cast doubt on everything that had come before. Will Alan still play out his story despite intimations of its futility?
