Pursued by forces from the U.N. and Mars through the ring structure created in solar orbit between Uranus and Neptune by the protomolecule after it left Venus, Alan realises, to his chagrin, that what should have been a white knuckle space chase has been has been transformed by the scriptwriters into something from the Keystone Cops because of the ridiculous drama-sapping idea that this bubble of space has a speed limit.
