Because Alan has been in hospital for the last few days, having a little liniment, a bit of unguent, and some balm applied to his oh-so-hay-feverish eye, he has heard his nurses describing, but not been able to witness himself, some sort of sudden ecological crisis. Surely, it will turn out to be mere girlish prattle?

That said, over night, the girlish prattle seems to have become less girlish but, oddly, rather more ‘clicky’.
