Reaching the ‘jetty’ or observation deck at the airport, it occurs to Alan that the child version of himself is probably also there at the same time. In his final moments, he comes to understand that the incident he witnessed as a hatchling, which has haunted him ever since, was his own death… 

Blah, blah, blah. If there is one genre Alan cannot abide it is photo-roman. How could mere still photographs ever be used to tell a meaningful story?
