The central idea of this script is so obviously ludicrous that Alan decides that the best use of his superlative acting skills to persuade the audience to suspend its disbelief is to break the fourth wall, look directly to camera and simply announce the premiss: 

“It must be some sort of children’s playground see-saw time machine”.
