Episode 6.7
In what seems even to Alan to have all the disturbing signs of being the worst sort of ‘bottle episode’, namely a clip-show (and see how quickly it has been rushed out after the previous, properly budgeted, though oddly unpopular episode!), Alan is Kondo-ing his lonely bachelor pad at Spaceport.
Here the pretext for an excursion into the series’ archive is him lifting something up and asking: “Does this spark joy?”. Although each time he utters this inanity something inside him dies, he comforts himself that the studio drew the line at copying that bizarre Star Trek The Next Generation episode ‘Fifty Shades of Gray’ in which Jonathan Frakes revisits every alien who had ever tied up and bonked Commander Riker.
